Makes me want to fly, just to try out the free in-flight wifi.
In total, the gift will include 47 airports that together handle over 500 million passengers each year, or about 35% of the total number of annual passengers in the U.S. In October, Google and Virgin America announced that, during this same period, all passengers on Virgin America will have free in-flight Wi-Fi.
I walked into Best Buy at release date and didn’t see any lines. I asked for the Motorola Droid and got set up in about 15 minutes. The Droid is the first Android device I’ve played with, and I’m slapping myself for ignoring this platform this long. I was able to setup my email, contacts, calendar, and install apps faster than my Nokia phones and the iPhone. I guess it helps that I already use a lot of Google services. I’m sure many of you do too. After just a couple of hours of usage, I give you my unboxing and first impressions.

So that’s my first impressions of the Motorola Droid. I’ll give it some more real-life usage before publishing my full review. If you want to purchase this device, Amazon is selling it for $149.99 with a service plan.
Search by voice and street view with navigation looks amazing!
The first phone to have Google Maps Navigation and Android 2.0 is the Droid from Verizon. Google Maps Navigation is initially available in the United States. And like other Google Maps features, Navigation is free.

Is it just me, or the UI seems ugly? Have to wait and see for myself.
Android 2.0 looks to be a major improvement in Google’s mobile OS and we couldn’t be more excited about it. From native Exchange support to native Facebook support (it will sync with your contacts), browser improvements, a completely updated Maps application, unified email Inbox — there’s much, much more — and a brand new UI makeover, version 2.0 starts to make Android a really viable (and interesting) platform.
Google is hoping to accelerate the adoption of Web-capable smartphones and get everyone searching on them. Given that most analysts expect more than 70 percent of mobile advertising to be search, you can see why Google’s CFO can’t wait to get as many search-friendly Android phones into consumers hands as possible.
The two industry leaders will create, market and distribute products and services, with Verizon Wireless also contributing the breadth of its nationwide distribution channels. Consumers will be able to purchase products resulting from the collaboration in Verizon Wireless retail and online stores.
